They have extensive knowledge of unit, community programs, and organizations plus the resources to get the answers to your questions. The Key Spouse program is always looking for energetic spouses that would like to volunteer with this program. The Airman & Family Readiness Center provides initial Key Spouse Training (in 3 separate sessions) and ongoing advanced training. Transition Program

Pre-Separation Briefing - All military members will receive pre-separation counseling no later than 90 days prior to your separation or retirement. This is congressionally mandated and therefore a mandatory briefing. It is suggested to complete it 12 months prior to separating or 24 months before retiring from the military. During this briefing you will be able to register for the Transition Assistance Workshop (TAP). Registration is Required. Please call (530) 634-2863 to register.

Pre-Separation Briefings are held every Wednesday at 0900 and last until 1030 hours. The Pre-Separation Briefing that is on the last Wednesday of each month is reserved for those retiring.

Transition Assistance Program (TAP) Workshop - Excellent information for anyone leaving the military. This class is for separatees as well as retirees. Get information and training on your job search, start or polish your resume writing, and practice interviewing skills prior to leaving the military. Receive benefits information straight from a VA representative. This is a program you need to think about attending about 2 years before retirement or 1 year prior to separation. TAP is also a good refresher course for those who are a few months/weeks from getting out. Attendance at a Pre-Separation Briefing is a prerequisite to registering for any TAP Workshop. Plan ahead! Classes fill quickly. This workshop is not required for separation or retirement. Please call (530) 634-2863 to register for your Pre-Separation Briefing or TAP Workshop.
